This is one of my favourite memories from the village, and something I love doing whenever I return there in summer. I find a big tree in the garden, spread out a blanket, bring some fruit and a book or sometimes nothing at all. I just lie there and watch the sunlight moving through the leaves. After a while, the branches start to blend into the clouds, everything becomes a little blurred and before I realise it, I've fallen asleep. For a moment, I can't tell if I'm looking at the trees, the clouds or simply dreaming.
In A Summer Nap, 2026, I wanted to capture that moment between being awake and falling asleep, in the garden beside the house where I spent my childhood.

For larger works, where one side exceeds 100 cm, the painting will be carefully removed from the stretcher bars and shipped rolled in a protective tube. Shipping large artworks rolled is a safe and cost-effective method that helps reduce the risk of damage during international transit. Once received, the painting can be easily re-stretched onto wooden stretcher bars or framed by your local framer.
